3 vehicle crash, fuel leak, disrupts traffic on SR 63 S near Barnhart
VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A 3-vehicle wreck involving a semi has led to a lane shutdown on southbound SR 63 in northern Vigo County.
According to Indiana State Police, the crash occurred on the Wabash River Bridge on SR 63 South near Barnhart Road Tuesday morning. Two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck hauling asphalt were involved.

Sgt. Matt Ames said the cause of the crash was due to icy road conditions causing vehicles to lose control. The damage caused a leak in the fuel tank for the semi, a private contracted environmental cleanup crew was said to be on the way to assist with the cleanup of the spilled fuel.
One lane remains passable along the road, but drivers asked to avoid the area if possible.
Indiana State Police remind drivers as the temperatures begin to drop, bridges will be the first to freeze up, so slow down and be cautious as you drive.
