5-vehicle crash disrupts traffic at Sprinkle Road
KALAMAZOO, MI — Police and firefighters responded to a five-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of North Sprinkle Road and East Main Street, according to the Comstock Township Fire Department.
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Thursday, March 23, according to a witness. The Comstock Township Fire Department posted an alert on Facebook and asked drivers to avoid the area for about an hour after the crash.
Witness Kiya Byrd said she was going westbound on East Main Street and waiting for the light to turn green.
“It turned green and I had a feeling not to go yet,” Byrd said. Then a truck she believes was speeding went through the red light, north on Sprinkle, and caused the crash. “I called 911 immediately and not even a minute later police were on scene.”
The crash caused injuries, the fire department said. Further details were not provided.
