Air Traffic Slowed In Florida Due To Computer Issue: FAA

TAMPA, FLA. — The volume of traffic into Florida airspace has been slowed down due to an air traffic computer issue that is being resolved, the Federal Aviation Administration said Monday.

A Tampa International Airport spokesperson told Channel 10 News that there are too many planes in the sky and any plane en route to fly over Miami’s airspace would not be cleared until 2 p.m.

Flights already in the sky weren’t affected, the outlet reported.

Only two flights — one to Cuba, the other to Texas — in the Tampa Bay area were impacted, according to the outlet.

Flights in South Florida, southwest Florida, and Orlando, were also experiencing departure delays, according to an online FAA map.
