Real-time traffic and travel map available at City website and at the link below

Wilmington’s Public Works Department has compiled the attached list of streets on which construction or, maintenance will occur over the next week by the City itself, or by either DelDOT, Delmarva Power, or private contractors. The attached information is for Monday, April 3 through Friday, April 7, 2023.

The City’s website contains a real-time map that is updated daily so you can follow any changes to the weekly schedule caused by weather or other construction-related delays. Public Works Commissioner Kelly Williams said every effort is made to compile the most accurate list each week of street projects that could affect your travel in the City the following week. She cautioned, however, that the time frames for the listed projects could be altered if they are delayed due to factors such as the weather.

The Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) operates DART First State, which offers a statewide network of public transportation options including fixed bus routes, intercounty and seasonal buses, paratransit for people with disabilities, commuter train service contracted through SEPTA, and Delaware Commute Solutions’ ride matching program. DART operates 36 bus routes in New Castle County as well as more than 40 weekday trains, eight Saturday and seven Sunday trains on the SEPTA Wilmington/Newark Line. DART reminds riders of the ongoing detour in the vicinity of Wilmington’s Southbridge section – East 4th Street and A Street – which will be in effect until further notice. Also, due to construction on King Street at 8th Street the bus stop at that corner (ID 58) will be closed until Wednesday, April 5. Riders should board their bus at the temporary stop approximately 100 feet south on King Street, near 7th Street. For more information about the specific buses and routes affected by these temporary changes, please visit dartfirststate.com/RiderInfo/alerts/ Riders can also call the DART Information Center at 1-800-652-3278 for specific stop information.

“DART Reimagined”
The Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) is leading a year-long, statewide transit study, “DART Reimagined: Reshaping DART Transit Services to Meet the Needs of Today and Beyond,” to identify opportunities to reconfigure the bus network and provide a more sustainable and equitable transit system for all Delawareans.  The goal is to collaborate with riders, the public, municipalities, businesses, state agencies, and other key stakeholders to garner input on existing DART services and to help identify future goals for system improvements that meet rider needs.

The DART Reimagined project team is actively evaluating the current system and would like to encourage current and future customers to take a digital survey which is open through Friday, April 21, 2023.  Survey insights will help DART better understand the challenges and opportunities of existing transit access, and how connections across the state may be improved to accommodate current and future rider needs. The survey can be accessed at www.DARTReimagined.com and should take less than 10 minutes to complete.  Participants can choose to be entered into a drawing for a free 7-Day Pass, with 10 lucky entries being selected. For more information on DART Reimagined and the project progress and timeline, please visit www.DARTReimagined.com.
