
Elderly man dies after Thornton traffic accident: Police looking for suspect in red Jeep Grand Cherokee in Christmas Day altercation

A 70-year-old man was beaten and killed Christmas night after backing into a red Jeep Grand Cherokee outside a Thornton sports pub.
Thornton Police said they were looking for a white male, between 5 feet and 5-foot 8-inches tall, with red/blond hair that was long, at least below the shoulder. The suspect was last seen wearing black and green tie-dyed t-shirt, dark pants and black shoes. He reportedly was driving a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with a black vinyl-wrapped hood and a large roof rack. In a written statement, police said the car may have fresh damage to the front.
According to the police statement. Police were called to Thirsty’s Sports Pub 12294 E. 104th Ave. Police found the 70-year-old man had been punched, kicked and seriously injured after backing in to the suspect’s red Jeep Grand Cherokee.
According to police, the suspect had left the scene and the 70-year-old was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. He died of his injuries a day later. His identity is being withheld and will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s office.
Police have limited information about the suspect and are asking residents to contact detectives at 720 977-5030 if they have any information.
