Expect Traffic By Santa Monica Pier Due To Road Work

SANTA MONICA, CA — Travelers in Santa Monica can expect delays and a bit of traffic due to planned construction on Ocean Avenue near the Pier starting Thursday morning.

Southbound traffic from Colorado Avenue to California Avenue will be impacted by crews installing concrete medians to separate the bike lane from regular lanes of traffic. Due to the road work, there will be reduced lanes, left turn restrictions and no street parking temporarily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Northbound traffic will not be affected by the construction, officials said.

Any questions or concerns about the construction can be directed to project manager Fabio M. Macias at 310-401-0432 or Public Works inspector Joe Munoz at 310-350-9738.

This project is part of the city’s annual pavement rehabilitation project that is scheduled to repair 3.4 centerline miles of streets and sidewalks in Downtown Santa Monica. Completion of the whole project will be finished by the end of June according to the city.
