Felon caught with meth for sale during traffic stop in Anderson Monday morning, police say
ANDERSON, Calif. — A Redding man was reportedly caught with over an ounce of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in the Anderson area on Monday morning. Police say this is the felon’s second arrest for drug sales within the last year, and his third arrest since 2022.
Anderson police said, just before 10:50 a.m. Monday morning, one of their officers stopped a vehicle near North Street and Ravenwood Road for a code violation. The vehicle’s passenger was identified as 44-year-old Spencer Michael Downing of Redding, Calif., who was on active felony probation for meth sales.
After a probation search, police said the officer found 1.5 ounces of meth on Downing. He was ultimately arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for possessing meth for the purpose of sales.
