Girl, 16, seriously injured after being hit by car in Essex village


A teenage girl was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in a crash. A witness appeal has been made following the crash in Kirby Cross earlier this week.

The girl, aged 16, was struck by the car at around 10.30am on Monday (May 29) in Holland Road. The girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Essex Police said the car stopped at the scene and they are now seeking witnesses.

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Kirby Cross this week. Officers were called to Holland Road shortly before 10:30am on Monday, 29 May following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.

“The pedestrian, a 16-year-old girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The car stopped at the scene. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have any CCTV or dashcam to get in contact and assist officers with enquiries.
