Hwy 70 near Beckwourth reopens to one-way traffic – Plumas News

The Quincy office of the California Highway Patrol is reporting that Caltrans has shored up the sinkhole near Beckwourth and that Highway 70 reopened late this afternoon to one-way controlled traffic.

A permanent fix will be made later in the season when the area dries out.

The highway was closed March 27 when a propane truck fell into a sink hole that opened up near the Beckwourth Airport. A failed culvert is the culprit and undermined the roadway.
