Circuit Judge Herb Wright announced today he is running for the traffic court seat held by Judge Vic Fleming.

Wright has been a circuit judge in the Sixth Judicial District presiding over felony, misdemeanor and civil trials since he was elected to the position in 2008. Wright was previously the judge of the Wrightsville District Court from 2005-2008.

Wright, who lives in North Little Rock, has won a number of awards, including Best Criminal Defense Attorney in Arkansas by the Arkansas Times, according to a press release.

North Little Rock attorney Robert Tellez announced last week his candidacy for the same Little Rock District Court, Division 2 seat held by Fleming.
