CHP confirmed that a severe traffic alert had been issued. The right northbound lane of the span is being blocked by the police activity, but slow traffic is persisting in both directions.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes to avoid the area. Currently there is no estimated time to reopen the roadway.
