A temporary sign warns drivers of planned traffic delays on U.S. 30 just east of the Ohio 602 exit on Wednesday afternoon.

BUCYRUS — Traffic on U.S. 30 will be intermittently delayed Thursday night and early Friday as crews install new power lines across the highway.

The Ohio Highway Patrol will conduct a rolling roadblock, according to Jette Cander, director of the Crawford County Emergency Management Agency.

Crews working for American Electric Power have been replacing transmission lines and poles between Bucyrus and Shelby for several months. The project involves rebuilding about 15 miles of power line and building about 10 miles of new power line, an AEP spokeswoman said previously. The lines cross U.S. 30 at two points east of Ohio 602.

Sgt. Brian Kelley of the Bucyrus post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said traffic will be slowed or halted intermittently between roughly 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
