A crash has shut down traffic in both directions on Mt. Rose Highway near mile marker 10 (MM10) on the Reno side of the Summit Thursday afternoon.

According to the Nevada State Police (NSP), at approximately 12:18 p.m. on May 25, they responded to a reported crash on SR-431.

Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling eastbound, and for unknown causes, it crossed over the lines into the opposite travel lane and hit another vehicle, which then hit a third vehicle.

One person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, said NSP.

Crews are currently on scene. Roads are expected to reopen in one hour.
