Traffic impacts expected in downtown Rochester for holiday decoration removal

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Public Works department announced there will be some traffic impacts this weekend as crews remove holiday decorations from skyways in downtown Rochester.

The following impacts are expected on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Sunday, Jan 22:

  • 2nd St. SW/SE from 2nd Ave. SW to 1st Ave. SE.
    Traffic will be shifted around the lift beneath the skyways on 2nd St. SW and 2nd St. SE. One lane in each direction will be maintained at all times.
  • Broadway Avenue from 1st St. S to 2nd St. S.
    Traffic will be shifted around the lift in the street beneath the skyways on Broadway Avenue.
    Southbound left turn lane on 2nd St. SE will be closed.
    Northbound will be reduced to one lane.
  • Civic Center Drive SE from 1st St. SE to 2nd St. SE.
    Traffic will be shifted around the lift beneath the skyway on Civic Center Drive SE. One lane in each direction will be maintained at all times.
    Northbound left turn lane onto 1st St. SE will be shortened.

The work will occur between 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
