Traffic moved along Interstate 80 despite more snow in the Sierra
Many decided to take advantage of the lighter snowfall in the Sierra on Wednesday and travel through Interstate 80.”Overall, not too bad actually. I mean, knock on wood, everything is alright,” Edris Safi said of the driving conditions.After enjoying some time off in North Lake Tahoe, he and his family headed back home to Vacaville.”Vacaville is hot as hell in the summer, so I’m a winter person,” Safi said. “I love it!” While the snow on Wednesday alone was not enough to cause too much of an issue for travelers, it was just the latest round in a series of snowstorms in the Sierra that now has mounds of snow creating a wall around roadways and nearly burying traffic signs.”The consistency of it has been different than what I’ve experienced in the past,” said Jared Dalen of Kingvale.Still, the snow was cleared where it counts, allowing traffic to move along on Interstate 80 aside from some slowdowns approaching chain control areas.”This is as expected. We made sure to look at Caltrans and all that kind of stuff before we came,” Rachael Devlin said.She was driving from the Bay Area to Tahoe City to spend the holiday weekend with friends.”We’re going to do a lot of crafting and then some puzzling and then some movie-watching,” she said.
