Traffic stopped on A42 near Ashby after major crash



A multi-vehicle crash on the A42 near Ashby in North West Leicestershire has brought traffic to a stand-still this afternoon. The nature and seriousness of the crash have not been disclosed at this stage.


National Highways published details of the incident on social media shortly before 3.30pm. It said traffic had been stopped and emergency teams were on their way to the scene.



It social media post said: “Multi-vehicle collision on the A42 southbound between junction 12 the B5006 near Ashby and junction 11 the M42/A444 near Appleby Magna. Vehicles are passing the scene slowly between lanes one and two.”
