Vehicle collision slows Parks Highway traffic north of Willow

A vehicle crash slowed traffic on the Parks Highway north of Willow on Wednesday afternoon.

The highway was initially closed in both directions around Mile 77.5 around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Alaska 511. Tim DeSpain, a spokesperson with the Alaska State Troopers, said troopers and emergency personnel were responding to a “serious crash” in the area.

The highway was reopened by around 5 p.m., according to an update from Alaska 511.

Additional information, such as the number of vehicles involved and whether the crash resulted in injuries, was not immediately available from authorities.
